Coordination Meeting with Local Judicial Committee and Stakeholders
Coordination meeting was conducted on 13 July 2023 at Kirtipur Municipality office to discuss on the caste-based discrimination and untouchability offense and punishment act to sensitize the judicial committee and civil society actors. In the meeting, victims of caste-based discrimination expressed their pain occurred in the public places. They were not allowed to worship in the public temple and also discrimination in public shop. How caste-based discrimination and untouchability practices can be prevented and control was discussed and commitment made by Deputy Mayor, judicial committee members, executive committee members of Kirtipur Municipality to increase awareness against discrimination and untouchability faced by Dalit women and to take action against perpetrator through the active involvement of police and other law enforcement agencies.
