Orientation on GBV and CBDU (Offense and Punishment) Act and Advocacy Leadership Training
Orientation Program was conducted for members of Dalit women activists (women human rights defenders) and Vigilance Committee on 30 Sep 2023 at Krishna Catering, Panga Dobato, Kirtipur. A total of 32 participants were present in the orientation program. Mr. Ram Kumar Kamat, Advocate oriented the members about the gender-based violence (GBV) Act and caste-based discrimination and untouchability (CBDU) offense and punishment Act. Particularly, orientation was focused to the procedures of investigation and prosecution to provide the justice for victimized from caste-based discrimination, untouchability and gender-based violence. The members became about the law and legal procedure to handle and register the cases against caste-based discrimination and gender-based violence.
Two-day Advocacy Leadership Training was conducted on 24 – 25 September 2023 for the selected members from group of Dalit women activists and vigilance committee. Ms. Gita Subedi, Advisor of DWN facilitated the training. Training was focused to provide advocacy leadership knowledge and skills to lead the advocacy campaign against caste-based discrimination and gender-based violence. A total of 22 participants were present in the training.
