One-day Orientation for Men and Boys on Positive Masculinity, Including Parenthood – Dalit Women Network

On 16th May ,2025 at Tilaurakot Hotel ,Taulihawa Kapilvastu Municipality.Under the expected outcome of the Hamro Sahas project, titled “Engagement of Local Government and Citizens to Prevent Gender-based Violence through Social Norms Change”, a one-day orientation conducted for men and boys on positive masculinity, including aspects of parenthood. Dalit men and boys selected and invited from the wards 6, 7, and 8 of Kapilvastu Municipality to participate in this orientation.The orientation , attended by 38 participants 35 males and 3 females and facilitated by an external facilitator Mr Sanjay pasee . The orientation focused on learning participants about gender, masculinity, femininity within a patriarchal culture, the effects of negative masculinity, and the role of men and boys towards positive masculinity and parenthood to ensure women’s rights and prevent gender-based violence through gender transformational change.
